About

The Ebe, Hertford

The Ebe, Hertford is on the site of The Ebenezer Chapel. This Victorian building was replaced in the 1960's by a red brick version, which, although familiar to residents, did nothing to enhance what is a very good location close to the centre one of Hertfordshire's prettiest market towns.

Our response was to design a compact and appealing piece of creative architecture. Although the soft creams and yellows we chose for it echo the painted renders on some of its elegant Georgian neighbours, the form of our building - its sharp angles, glass balconies and flat roofs - are right up to date. This approach of empathetic modernity has proved very successful and The Ebe complements its location.

Internally the apartments are comfortable and spacious, with a good quality specification. Every apartment has its own outside space, many of the balconies offering magnificent views towards St Andrew's church.
